Allah is the Creator

Praise be to God, the Creator, the All-Powerful, the All-Forgiving, He created us and perfected our forms, and made for us hearing, hearts, and sights. (If you (try to) count the bounties of Allah, you cannot count them all. Indeed, man is highly unjust, very ungrateful).

And I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, alone, who has no partner, He has laid mountains and made the rivers flow, and I bear witness that our leader Muhammad is His chosen servant and His Messenger, may Allah bless him, his family and his good companions.

After that,

I advise you and myself to fear Allah, He said:

﴿ يَاأَيُّهَا النَّاسُ اتَّقُوا رَبَّكُمُ الَّذِي خَلَقَكُمْ مِنْ نَفْسٍ وَاحِدَةٍ وَخَلَقَ مِنْهَا زَوْجَهَا وَبَثَّ مِنْهُمَا رِجَالًا كَثِيرًا وَنِسَاءً وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ الَّذِي تَسَاءَلُونَ بِهِ وَالْأَرْحَامَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ كَانَ عَلَيْكُمْ رَقِيبًا ﴾ [النساء1]

“Men, fear your Lord who created you from a single soul, and from it created its match, and spread many men and women from the two. Fear Allah in whose name you ask each other (for your rights), and fear (the violation of the rights of) the womb-relations. Surely, Allah is watchful over you”.

Brothers in Islam,

Faith in Allah varies in the hearts, and how much comforting to live with a high faith that attaches the soul of the earthly body to its Lord and Creator, and what we need is a remembrance of Allah the Almighty that softens hearts and increases faith. And with this faith, the power of Satan is defeated.

Today, our talk is about our Creator, Glory be to Him, and may the praise be to Him.

We will discuss about a name of Allah, that’s the Creator.

Islamic scholars mentioned a rule regarding the names of Allah that: “Every name of Allah necessitates an attribute”.

And the attribute of the name, the Creator, was recognized even by polytheists, as the Almighty said:

﴿ وَلَئِنْ سَأَلْتَهُمْ مَنْ خَلَقَهُمْ لَيَقُولُنَّ اللَّهُ فَأَنَّى يُؤْفَكُونَ ﴾ [الزخرف: 87].

﴿ وَلَئِنْ سَأَلْتَهُمْ مَنْ خَلَقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ وَسَخَّرَ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ لَيَقُولُنَّ اللَّهُ فَأَنَّى يُؤْفَكُونَ ﴾ [العنكبوت: 61].

“And if you ask them as to who has created them, they will certainly say, “Allah”. Then, to where are they driven back (by their false desires)?”

“If you ask them as to who has created the heavens and the earth and has subjugated the sun and the moon, they will certainly say, “Allah”. How then are they driven aback (by their whims?)”.

Al-Khattabi, may God have mercy on him, said: “The Creator is the one who creates and invents something without its previous example.”.

Beloveds,

The name, the Creator, has appeared singularly in the Holy Qur’an eight times:

﴿ هُوَ اللَّهُ الْخَالِقُ الْبَارِئُ ﴾ [الحشر: 24].

"He is Allah, the Creator, the Inventor".

And as in His saying:

﴿ اللَّهُ خَالِقُ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ ﴾ [الرعد: 16].

“Allah is the Creator of everything”.

And the name, Khallaque, (the, Creator) of Allah, came twice in the Holy Qur’an:

﴿ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ الْخَلَّاقُ الْعَلِيمُ ﴾ [الحجر: 86].

“Surely, your Lord is the Creator of all, the All-Knowing”.

And in joining the name, Khallaque, (the, Creator) with the name, Aleem, (the, All-Knowing) is an indication that He created things out of His knowledge. He knows what to create, when to create and what is the wisdom and logic behind creating any thing. He did not create anything in vain.

He said:

﴿ وَمَا خَلَقْنَا السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا لَاعِبِينَ ﴾ [الدخان: 38].

﴿ أَفَحَسِبْتُمْ أَنَّمَا خَلَقْنَاكُمْ عَبَثًا وَأَنَّكُمْ إِلَيْنَا لَا تُرْجَعُونَ ﴾ [المؤمنون: 115].

“And We did not create the heavens and the earth and what is between them just as players”.

“So did you think that We created you for nothing, and that you will not be brought back to Us?”

And the Khallaque is word which shows exaggeration. So, here this word indicating the abundance of Allah’s creation.

consider how billions of creatures come into existence in just one second. He said:

﴿ فَتَبَارَكَ اللَّهُ أَحْسَنُ الْخَالِقِينَ ﴾ [المؤمنون: 14].

“So, glorious is Allah, the Best of the creators”.

The nature and the varieties of creatures in nature which exist in the nature, all glorifies Allah the Almighty. He said:

﴿ تُسَبِّحُ لَهُ السَّمَاوَاتُ السَّبْعُ وَالْأَرْضُ وَمَنْ فِيهِنَّ وَإِنْ مِنْ شَيْءٍ إِلَّا يُسَبِّحُ بِحَمْدِهِ وَلَكِنْ لَا تَفْقَهُونَ تَسْبِيحَهُمْ ﴾ [الإسراء: 44].

“All the seven skies and the earth and all those therein extol His purity. And there is not a single thing that does not extol His purity along with His praise, but you do not understand their extolling”.

Everything in the universe created by Allah the Almighty, is a witness to His lordship and divinity. He said:

﴿ هَذَا خَلْقُ اللَّهِ فَأَرُونِي مَاذَا خَلَقَ الَّذِينَ مِنْ دُونِهِ بَلِ الظَّالِمُونَ فِي ضَلَالٍ مُبِينٍ ﴾ [لقمان: 11].

“This is the creation of Allah. Now, show me what is created by those others, besides Him. Rather, the transgressors are in open error”.

Here are some of the discoveries of this era:

Between (500-600) million sperms pass through the vagina, and each of these sperms is capable to be a human being. But Allah the Almighty, with his mighty and wisdom, chooses one of these millions to fertilize the egg; So that this person can be, the preferred, unimpaired, the wise, the speaker, and the one who can manage his affairs with Allah’s permission.

This is how we are created, so let us humble ourselves to the greatness and glory of Allah the Almighty! Let us remember the beginning from which we belong, so that we can realize the huge difference between the sperm and this normal human being.

There are more than a hundred trillion cells in the human body, and within each of these cells are devices, actions, nuclei, programs, maps and information, all are glorifying their Lord Almighty and performing their role in the best possible way.

There, in each cell, (31) billion letters of DNA are found. And it is four-lettered and is a genetic material which is found in the nucleus of the egg, and it is responsible for all the various vital functions of the body.

These huge numbers of acidic nuclear letters, and these huge quantities of atoms and cells in our body, all speak and acknowledge the greatness of Allah the Almighty and that He is the Creator.

Raise your head to the sky when the night reaches you. Above your head, there are billions of galaxies, and the galaxy is a gathering of many different, vast, huge stars.

The distances in the stars and galaxies are not estimated by specialists in kilometres, but it is estimated at the speed of light. And the light travels 300,000 km per second, and cuts approximately 1 billion km in one hour!

Galaxies are such a great creation that the specialists said: if it is assumed that a vehicle is traveling at the speed of light, it would need several thousand years to pass one of these galaxies, let alone what lies beyond it. God Almighty said:

﴿ فَلَا أُقْسِمُ بِمَا تُبْصِرُونَ * وَمَا لَا تُبْصِرُونَ ﴾ [الحاقة: 38، 39].

“Swear by what you see, and what you do not see”.

He also said:

﴿ فَلَا أُقْسِمُ بِمَوَاقِعِ النُّجُومِ * وَإِنَّهُ لَقَسَمٌ لَوْ تَعْلَمُونَ عَظِيمٌ ﴾ [الواقعة: 75، 76].

“So, I swear by the setting places of the stars, and indeed it is a great oath, if you are to appreciate”.

A person feels himself great in his own eyes, but if he looks at these gigantic, huge, great creatures; It would find in himself humbleness, humility, reverence, fear and reliance.

These galaxies that we are talking about contain between a hundred billion to a thousand billion stars!! Science is still discovering new things every day in this space, although the means of detection are still incapable and deficient in understanding what is behind that all.

The splendour, beauty and grandeur of this universe is a reflection of creation of the great Creator, Glory be to Him.

Second sermon

Praise be to Allah.

Afterwards,

The contemplation upon Allah’s creation and His kingdom leads to a firm belief in Allah, the Creator.

﴿ إِنَّ فِي خَلْقِ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَاخْتِلَافِ اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ لَآيَاتٍ لِأُولِي الْأَلْبَابِ ﴾ [آل عمران: 190].

“Surely, in the creation of the heavens and the earth, and in the alternation of night and day, there are signs for the people of wisdom”.

And the belief that Allah is the Creator, the Benefactor, the Ruler, leads the servant to love his Creator, to submit to His command, to obey His laws, and abide by His limits. That is why He, Glory be to Him, said:

﴿ أَلَا لَهُ الْخَلْقُ وَالْأَمْرُ تَبَارَكَ اللَّهُ رَبُّ الْعَالَمِينَ ﴾ [الأعراف: 54].

“Lo! To Him alone belong the creation and the command. Glorious is Allah, the Lord of all the world”.

Means: The one who has the creation, has the command, which is called law.

Brothers in faith,

The belief in the name of Allah, the Creator has effects of faith on the servant:

• Belief in the Creator, Glory be to Him, necessitates belief in the oneness and divinity of Allah, and singling Him out for worship.

• Among the effects of belief in the name of Allah, the Creator, is that, we get perfect love for our Lord, Glory be to Him, for He is our Creator and the Benefactor of many blessings about which we know a little and don’t know a lot.

• Belief in the name of Allah the, Creator, indicates other attributes of Allah, glory be to Him, such as giving life, having power, knowledge, will, all are the attributes of Allah.

• Among the effects of the belief in the name of Allah, Creator, necessitates belief in His wisdom behind His creation.

﴿ أَفَحَسِبْتُمْ أَنَّمَا خَلَقْنَاكُمْ عَبَثًا وَأَنَّكُمْ إِلَيْنَا لَا تُرْجَعُونَ﴾ [المؤمنون:115].

“So did you think that We created you for nothing, and that you will not be brought back to Us?”.

• And among the effects of faith in the name of Allah, the, Creator, necessitates acceptance of his law, glorification of his command, acting upon it, entrusting judgment to him and not being satisfied with others as a substitute, because it is the law issued by the All-Knowing, All-Wise, Glory be to Him.

﴿ أَلَا يَعْلَمُ مَنْ خَلَقَ وَهُوَ اللَّطِيفُ الْخَبِيرُ ﴾ [الملك: 14].

“Is it (imaginable) that He who has created (them) will not have (such a) knowledge, while He is the Knower of the finest things, the All-Aware?”

• Among the effects of faith in the name of Allah, the Creator, requires the recognition that Allah, the Creator, has knowledge of his every small and great creation.

﴿ وَأَسِرُّوا قَوْلَكُمْ أَوِ اجْهَرُوا بِهِ إِنَّهُ عَلِيمٌ بِذَاتِ الصُّدُورِ * أَلَا يَعْلَمُ مَنْ خَلَقَ وَهُوَ اللَّطِيفُ الْخَبِيرُ ﴾ [الملك: 13، 14].

“Whether you keep your talk secret or make it aloud, He knows well what lies in the hearts. Is it (imaginable) that He who has created (them) will not have (such a) knowledge, while He is the Knower of the finest things, the All-Aware?”.

• Among the effects of faith in the name of Allah is glorifying Allah, the Exalted, the Majestic, while observing His great creatures in the horizons and in our souls; Because the greatness of these creatures, their accuracy, and their regularity indicate the greatness of their Creator.

﴿ صُنْعَ اللَّهِ الَّذِي أَتْقَنَ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ إِنَّهُ خَبِيرٌ بِمَا تَفْعَلُونَ ﴾ [النمل:88].

"An act of Allah who has perfected every thing. Surely, He is All-Aware of what you do”.

And after that, servants of Allah, send peace and salutations.
