Islamic Economic Press

Entrance:

The Islamic journalism is one of the models that are characterized by Islamic, in that it is Islamic by method, idea and content. It is a channel of communication with Muslims, discussing their reality and living their problems.

It is well known that journalistic media is a part of the communication process by which the recipient and the sender of the message interact with certain social contexts, abstract meaning, or a specific reality. And the components of the journalistic media process: the sender, the message, the recipient, and Communication tool.

The message of the press media is persuasion through information and documented facts, based on clarity, frankness and accuracy in the novel, and it is committed to truth and honesty. It addresses the minds, not the instincts, and uses clarification, explanation, interpretation, commentary, dialogue, and guided, purposeful discussion.

Arab media discourse, especially the journalist, has fluctuated between flattery and attacking, passing through with appeasement.

This is due to the absence of a sincere, systematic vision that does not confuse the ruling with the fatwa. As the difference in terms of each fatwa resulted in many errors.

The lawsuit speech is not a field for journalistic caricature in any case, but rather a disciplined and committed speech.

Foundations of Islamic Journalism:

Islamic journalism is a positive press that does not only itself to pointing out mistakes and directing criticism, but also proposes an alternative.

Islamic journalism is analytical journalism that relies on rational evidence.

The Muslim journalist is a practical field journalist who goes to the scene of the accident and sees the opinion of the eye and then writes about it, real journalist is not an office journalist who sits in his office to write without seeing, living, or understanding the background and reality of what he is writing.

The Muslim journalist does not promote his printed speech as a commodity with false excitement, does not adorn voidness, and does not injure justice. It does not flatten where it is necessary to divide the truth, but at the same time it does not attack where it is necessary to say soft.

The Islamic journalism and the Muslim journalist are part of it that seeks to spread truth and light and uncover falsehood and does not fear in God the blame for blame, because telling the truth is the core of his work and the core of his mission.

These are the most important foundations and main tasks of honest, positive journalism.

Characteristics of Islamic journalism:

Islamic journalism as a religious media is characterized by several media characteristics, including:

1) Its ability to retain the information it has as long as possible.

2) The print media is the only media that the reader can present himself to at a time that suits him and conforms with his circumstances.

3) These means have the ability to dispose of their contents in any size and in any detail that appears needed.

4) Publications are the most capable mass media to specialize in a specific branch of knowledge, specializing in religion, health, sports, economics, etc., and therefore they are among the most appropriate specialized religious media.

In this sense, it is the best way to present long Islamic topics, multiple opinions, and lengthy interpretations.

Responsibilities of Islamic Journalism Media:

There are several responsibilities entrusted to the Islamic press media, including:

1) Defining public opinion expresses the principles and rulings of the Islamic religion.

2) Fighting the innovations and superstitions that are coming Islam.

3) Contribute to disclosure of the essence of the Islamic religion, and to remove the falsehoods and suspicions that unjustly attached by the enemies to Islam.

4) Responding to questions and inquiries supported by the views, opinions, and jurisprudence of Islamic scholars and researchers.

5) Addressing political, economic, social and other problems with an Islamic enlightenment.

6) Editing news, writing comments and investigations consistent with serving Islam.

7) Using Islamic decorations in the process of directing and moving away as much as possible from directing methods that are incompatible with the prestige of Islam.

Understanding and studying the media is a major requirement, as it requires familiarity with the different dimensions and angles of the media. There is the statistical angle that shows us experimentally the correlation coefficients in the media field.

There is the historical angle that studies the historical development of media phenomena, as well as the legal angle through which we study media regulations from the judicial point of view.

In addition, there is the economic angle that is mainly based on the study of the media administratively point of view, in the sense of achieving the goals of these media in the realm of economic activity that aimed at satisfying basic human needs.

Islamic economic press:

If the Islamic press had emerged relatively long time ago. The Islamic economic press has been established only about forty years ago ,i.e, from the year 1388 AH (1968), the beginnings were very shy to the point of a short essay, limited vision and comparative study, and the lines of the Islamic economic press in that period were not clear-cut and defined.

At a time when the Western economic press, as well as the Arab economy, was witnessing prosperity and brilliance, and it had independent writers, editors and journalists, who gained through their work the experience, expertise, know-how and journalistic skill.

Today, we see a strong renaissance, we hear a clear voice, read an Islamic economic press, and witness the features of this renaissance clearly in many countries, in Kuwait there is the economic magazine (Al-Noor) issued by the Kuwait Finance House, in Egypt there is (the Islamic Banks magazine), which was issued by the international federation of Islamic banks , in the United Arab Emirates there is (the Islamic Economy Journal) issued by the Dubai Islamic Bank, in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia there is (The Journal of Islamic Economics Research) issued by the International Center for Islamic Economic Research, and (The Journal of Islamic Economic Studies) issued by the Islamic Institute for Economic Research and Training of the Islamic Bank For development in Jeddah, in Morocco, there is the newspaper (our economy) issued by the Moroccan (Association for Islamic Economics) , and in Britain there is (The International Journal of Islamic economics) issued by the International Association of Islamic Economics.

In addition to the above, there are newspapers and magazines specializing in Islamic affairs, which are concerned with news of the Islamic world, and address political, economic and social problems, with an enlightened Islamic approach, which have sections on fatwas and jurisprudential rulings in their pages and to respond to the questions and inquiries of readers regarding matters of their religion and economic issues, For example, there is Al-Islah Magazine (Economic Reform), Society Magazine (Economic Society), Al-Da`wah Magazine (Economic Attaché), Islamic Awareness Magazine, Charitable Magazine, Manar Al-Islam Magazine and the Islamic Future Magazine, and we can also add other specialized economic magazines such as: Riyadh Trade Magazine, and Magazine Markets, Money Magazine, Al-Ahram Al-Iqtisadi Magazine, Arab Market Economics Magazine, Environment Magazine, Al-Moasher Newspaper, Economics Newspaper, Association Magazine, and The Islamic World Newspaper issued by the Muslim World League. Where these magazines and newspapers make a wide range of Islamic economic contributions, and some dialogues, meetings and investigations are conducted on sensitive Islamic economic issues.

There are Islamic economic associations that contribute significantly to the march of the Islamic economic press in terms of holding annual meetings, holding conferences, seminars, forums, and discussion forums for intellectual economic dialogue, and issuing a group of magazines, newspapers, pamphlets, publications, books and economic chains such as: the International Association for Islamic Economics, the Moroccan Society for Islamic Economy and the Association Islamic Economics, the Islamic Economics Club, the Arab Society for Economic Research and the Saudi Economic Association.

The existence of academic scientific departments bearing the banner of Islamic economics has contributed to the renaissance of the Islamic economic press, through specialized academic pens that participate in writing economic angles, pillars and visions, diagnose economic reality, and offer some means of confrontation and treatment of current economic problems, there is, for example: the Department of Islamic Economics At Imam Muhammad bin Saud University, the Islamic Economics Department at Um Al-Qura University, the Islamic Economics Division at Al-Azhar University, and the Islamic Economics Division at King Abdulaziz University.

In addition to the above, the Islamic economic press also contributes to the following:

1) Economic research centers such as: the Economics Research Unit at Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University, the Islamic Economics Research Unit at the Higher Institute of Islamic Thought, the Islamic Economics Research Center at King Abdul Aziz University, the Studies and Research Division of the Dallah Al-Baraka Group, and the Islamic Institute for Economic Research and Training of the Bank Islamic Development.

2) Islamic banks, what you have from legitimate oversight bodies publications, pamphlets and brochures they publish, the seminars and conferences they hold, and the departments that specialize in fatwa affairs, training, studying Islamic banking issues and developments of the era, such as: Kuwait Finance House, Dubai Bank Al-Islami, Islamic Development Bank, Al-Rajhi Banking Corporation for Islamic Transactions, Faisal Islamic Bank, Dar Al-Mal Al-Islamiya and the International Union of Islamic Banks.

3) The Islamic Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Commodity Exchange , its efforts in coordination with the Chambers of Commerce and Industry in Islamic countries as well as between Muslim businessmen, its publications, publications and brochures, have contributed well in the field of Islamic economic journalism.

All of this and others are milestones of guidance, and prominent guidelines indicating the existence of good Islamic economic journalism, positive and effective competition that has its distinguished pioneers, its outstanding contributions, its effective participation, its clear importance, its own concerns, its challenges and effects, and its bright future.

Characteristics of Islamic economic journalism:

Below we present some of the characteristics of the Islamic economic press, and its defining characteristics, which are distinctive for its methodology, outlining its features, and clarifying its basic features, in some short and summarized manner, as follows:

1) Raising the banner of "Islam" and calling for it.

2) calling for the slogan "legitimacy" in what is proposed.

3) Calm ness and tranquility while discussing.

4) Narration and investigation of what is presented and published.

5) Authentication and disclosure of what is written.

6) Credibility, realism, purposeful suspense, and moderate excitement are among the most important features and goals of Islamic economic journalism.

7) Covering the economic news of the Islamic world.

8) Follow up on important and different economic events.

9) Moderation when presenting the efforts and results of researchers.

10) Exposing falsehoods, suspicions and fallacies, responding to them, refuting their fabrications and lies, and presenting the appropriate alternative.

Obstacles to Islamic economic journalism:

The Islamic economic press faces a range of obstacles and difficulties, and it faces some problems, for example:

1) The absence of joint coordination among the specialized economic journals.

2) Not to exchange news and economic events between different magazines.

3) The lack of a unified information center for joint efforts and activities.

4) The geographical distance made the process of exchange and cooperation difficult.

5) The deficiencies of the International Union of Islamic Banks, and perhaps the limited scope of its activities and projects.

6) Weak competition among the economic press.

7) The Islamic economic press needs more credibility.

8) The lack of suspense in the Islamic economic press.

9) The absence of an element of disciplined journalistic excitement in the Islamic economic press.

10) Weak news coverage of economic events in the Islamic world.

The reality of Islamic economic journalism:

I try to present a preliminary evaluation table of the most popular forms of Islamic economic journalism, indicating the degree of efficiency of each form, as follows:

Looking a head:

I am talking here about a future outlook for the Islamic economic press through three axes:

A) Press news axis.

B) The axis of the economic event.

C) Media proliferation hub.

As for the axis of journalistic news, I look forward to the future presentation of a distinguished economic journalist, who benefits from the experiences and outputs of others, adopts an honest Islamic approach that is sound from criticism and observations, accepts criticism and evaluation, provides appropriate alternatives, opens the door for quiet discussion and meaningful dialogue, and presents to the economic press locally internationally, a pioneering realistic model.

As for the axis of the economic event, I hope that the Islamic press will give it appropriate attention and special attention, in terms of the quality of coverage, good analysis and description, discussing the different dimensions of each economic event, exploring the causes, effects, problems, obstacles and difficulties, and then providing solutions commensurate with each event, leading to a comprehensive vision Targeted integrative.

As for the media spread, it depends on the two previous axes. The more powerful and pioneering the Islamic economic press news, the more the economic event is subject to scientific analytical standards, in order to truly agree with the developments of the times and current issues.

I do not like a pessimistic, dark view, I look at the Islamic economic press in the future through a welcoming and optimistic outlook, especially since the indicators of success and spread of that journalism progress step by step, and increase with time, clarity, acceptance, adequacy, and effectiveness.
