The book: End This Depression Now!

Author: Paul Krugman.

Reading:

This book deals with the economic stagnation that America and a number of other countries are currently experiencing, a recession that continues without any signs of an end, needless to say, many of the books dealing with the 2008 financial crisis, which marked the beginning of the recession, have already been published, and there is no doubt that many others are in a way of publishing, but this book is different from others. Books, where he tries to answer a different question.

The many literature on our economic disaster often ask the question: How did this happen? This book asks: What do we do now?!

Obviously, these two questions are somewhat related to each other, but they are by no means identical. It also applies to economic crises.

The author says: Currently the issue of treatment should be our biggest concern, whenever you read an academic article or an opinion article discussing what we have to do to prevent future economic crises, I feel some The donation.

Of course, that question deserves to be given our attention, but since we have not yet recovered from the recent crisis, should we not make this recovery our priority.

Krugman says "I claim that the best way to think about this constant recession is to accept the fact that we're living in a depression,. It is true that it is not the Great Depression, at least for most of us. However, this is almost the case that John Maynard Keynes many in the 1930s as saying: a chronic condition of substandard activity, which lasts for a long time without any noticeable inclination towards Recovery or complete collapse”.

This book attempts to loosen the grip of destructive beliefs and argues for expansionist policies that contribute to job creation, which should have been pursued from the beginning.

The author says "To prove my point, I needed to provide evidence,. So this book contains diagrams, but I hope that this does not make it look like a technical book, or keep it out of the reach of the average conscious reader, even if the economy is not within its usual areas of interest; In fact, what I'm trying to do here is to get past the important people who have gone in the wrong direction, whatever the reasons, taking our economies and societies to a heavy loss, and appealing to public opinion. enlightened trying to push us to the The right way”.

"All indications are that the economy will remain weak for a long time unless our policymakers change their attitudes, and my goal here is to push for this change and end this depression" Krugman says.
