The car from an economic perspective

Road accidents are a serious and growing problem in developing and Arab countries, without exception. Accident injuries are on the rise as road safety continues to deteriorate to levels that are difficult to control, Although developing countries have only 11% of the world's 375 million passenger cars, they account for 76% of the world's approximately 500,000 road traffic deaths. Annually, about 50% of these incidents occur in cities.

More than one study has confirmed that human behavior is the biggest factor in traffic accidents, with more than 80% of the causes of accidents in Saudi Arabia, These studies should be focused and sustained, and their results should be immediately implemented, and the focus should continue to be on organizational studies that improve the system's level and efficiency.

.

The developed and developing country is suffering from the problem of traffic accidents, which has become a growing and complex problem in the consequences and effects and is becoming more serious year after year, despite efforts to reduce This is due to the overall transformation that all countries are experiencing in all social and economic fields, with the accompanying changes that have led to increased traffic and movement on public roads.

Dr. Radhi Abdul Muti Al Sayed says in his book "Economic Effects of Traffic Accidents": Traffic accidents and the resulting human and material losses are one of the most important problems facing societies, owing the magnitude of these losses and their negative impact on development.

If we look at the official statistics issued by those involved in the problem in most countries, we will find huge and frightening numbers of fatal accidents that mostly kill or disability young people.

Furthermore, traffic accidents that leave injuries and disabilities cause significant family, social and psychological disruption.

The problem of traffic accidents is the most prominent problem faced by most States as a result of the steady increase in the number of accidents, injuries and deaths resulting from them.

Although the car is the most important tool in traffic, and despite its many benefits and various benefits to humanity, it has adverse effects both on public health and in the field of depleted energies. This has a negative impact on development.

Recent global statistics have revealed that an estimated 1.2 million people die each year in the world and 10 to 15 million people are injured as a result of traffic accidents, often leaving these Accidents are a proportion of serious injuries leading to different disabilities, and it is estimated that victims of traffic accidents occupy at least (10%) of the world's total hospital beds.

In the developing world, including the Arab world, the World Health Organization (WHO) statistics indicate that traffic accidents are a major cause of death, and even compete with other causes of death, such as heart disease. And cancer.

Specialized studies have shown that mortality rates per 10,000 vehicles registered in developing countries are 20 times higher than those in European and North American countries.

Traffic accident rates have also declined over the past two decades in industrialized countries, while in developing countries they continue to rise, prompting the World Health Organization (WHO) to call these The problem is that it is the disease of the times, and the industrialized countries have succeeded in confronting the disease of the times (traffic accidents) through the huge efforts made by those countries since the end of the 1960s.

Traffic accidents, with the resulting human and economic losses, are one of the most prominent problems facing the development of contemporary societies and stand in the way of their development.

This is clearly evident in developing countries, where the World Health Organization (WHO) and the World Bank have confirmed that road accidents are the second cause of death among the world's population, especially in the five-year-old age group to Twenty-nine years old, it is also the third leading cause of death among the world's population aged 30-44 years.

So what is required:

Third: Expanding the use of the latest technology to control traffic and familiarize the developed countries.

Fourth: Adopting engineering standards to improve road safety and reduce traffic congestion.

Fifth: Study and measure the level of improvement in traffic safety using international indicators.

I see among the causes of car problems is riding cars and competing with them in busy roads for the sake of something, but for the sake of hobby and love of driving, as these people get to drive crazy and deadly because of the predominance of enthusiasm and the love of appearing to people.
For such people, there must be supervision and reform that rehabilitates these people, especially the youth.
