Sustainability from an economic perspective

The world needs to change environmental trends, reform economic systems, and modify environmental, economic and social patterns, in order to achieve adequate economic development and meet needs Basic humanity, and maintains the integrity of the environment by adopting an accurate assessment of environmental considerations, in order to maintain economic, social and environmental stability. Economic stability is achieved only by achieving the principle of sustainable development.

Sustainable development has three main integrated dimensions: environmental, social and economic. The wealth and economic growth of humanity depends on the resources of the environment, which are sufficient for the needs of living organisms, if used effectively, because economic growth and environmental care are interlinked. The key to development is the participation, organization and education of people. Development should be conducive to the environment and its resources, as well as to the culture, history and social systems of the location in which it is conducted.

Sustainability is a principle that economic growth and development must be established and maintained within environmental boundaries, through the mutual relationships between people and their actions and between the biosphere and the route that govern it. Sustainability is a principle that means achieving a reasonable level of prosperity and security for all members of society among developing countries. It is therefore essential to protect the environmental balance.

The new development literature has begun to emphasize that the environment is not a means of development but an end in itself, and development may ultimately be the pursuit of the development and enrichment of the environment. In order to be successful, development must be compatible with the environment. This development, which is consistent with the conditions and controls of the environment, is sustainable development.

Sustainable development is a necessary risk to overcome environmental degradation and the deep development dilemma of the contemporary world. The future of the world has become linked to the planning of a lasting, sustained and renewed development that meets the needs of the present without sacrificing the demands of the future.

Sustainable development is the development that proceeds from these principles and balances development and the environment, between production and consumption, and between the capacity and endurance of the environment. The challenge for the international community now is how to achieve economic development and social welfare with minimal consumption of natural resources, minimal pollution and environmental damage. This is the essence of sustainable development that was adopted at the 1992 Earth Summit, which has become one of the most important new and serious additions to global development thinking.

Sustainable development has become to mean different things, depending on what is believed to be the important element in defining the concept. There are those who focus on the fact that the environment is the most important element of sustainable development, where the environment and environmental considerations have been neglected not only in development planning, but also in economic and social planning.

There are those who focus on the element of natural resources, how they are managed, maximizing the benefit of their use and possible methods of conservation and conservation. There are those who believe that the essence of sustainable development is thinking about the future and the fate of future generations. There are those who believe that the essence of sustainable development is the element of participation in the management of development, especially at the local level, where sustainable development is essentially development at the local level. There are those who believe that the immediate goal of sustainable development is to eradicate poverty.

The following are the most important multiple uses of sustainable development highlighting the most important features of sustainable development, as follows:

1) Sustainable development is different from other forms of development, in being more overlapping and more complex, especially with regard to what is normal and what is social in development.

2) Sustainable development is mainly geared towards meeting the needs and needs of the poorest segments of society and seeks to reduce the worsening of the phenomenon of poverty in the world.

3) Sustainable development is a qualitative dimension related to the development of spiritual and cultural aspects, and the maintenance of the cultural privacy of societies.

4) In the case of sustainable development, it is not possible to separate its elements and measure its indicators, because of the extreme overlap of quantitative and qualitative dimensions.
